Orbit now installs in Codex as well as Claude Desktop
The same Orbit server, skill library and activation key now ship in two packages: the existing Claude Desktop .mcpb and a Codex plugin ZIP with an installer for macOS, Linux and Windows.
What shipped
•New: the account download page offers separate Claude Desktop and Codex packages. Each option has a complete numbered install path, from download through the first setup check.
•New: the Codex package installs Orbit as a local plugin, registers it in the personal Codex marketplace and stores the activation key in ~/.orbit/config.json with user-only file permissions.
•Behaviour change: update notices now describe the right package and restart steps for the app running Orbit. Claude users continue to receive the .mcpb flow; Codex users receive the ZIP installer flow.
•Distribution: each release publishes both packages from the same version and shared server build, then promotes them together so Claude and Codex cannot drift onto different Orbit releases.
