Orbit Dictation is now Comet, plus a refreshed Orion icon
Two macOS app updates landed today. Orbit Dictation has been renamed Comet — same app, same shortcut, same menu-bar behaviour, on-theme name. Orion picked up a refreshed app icon (the Orbit planet plus AI sparkles), and the unsigned-app footer in install instructions was rewritten so it no longer claims Orion is 'the founder of Orbit' (he's the dock assistant, not the founder).
What shipped
•macOS dictation app renamed: Orbit Dictation → Comet. The .app, the DMG, the GitHub release titles, the menu-bar entry, and the website landing page (now /comet) all carry the new name. Existing installs keep updating cleanly because the bundle identifier, Sparkle update chain, and Keychain account are unchanged.
•/orbit-dictation permanently redirects to /comet so every previous link still resolves.
•New Comet app icon — handheld microphone silhouette with the Orbit planet as the head. Visually pairs with Orion as siblings in the Orbit family.
•New Orion app icon — Orbit planet with three AI-style sparkles around it. Replaces the planet-only mark and reads more clearly as 'AI dock assistant' at glance.
•Comet stays menu-bar-only at all times — no Dock icon flips when Settings or About windows open.
•Orion's release notes now describe him as 'Orbit's assistant for your macOS dock' rather than 'the founder of Orbit.' Long-running framing fix; matches the system prompt's positioning.
